The Department of Overseas Labor Management, Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, said that in 2022, the Taiwanese labor market (China) received 53,883 Vietnamese workers to work.

This result helps increase the number of Vietnamese workers working abroad under contracts in this market by about 2.8 times compared to 2021, marking a recovery in the field of labor going to work abroad. This is also one of the three key overseas labor markets in Vietnam, always attracting many domestic workers to work here.

Previously, in 2021, due to the negative impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the activity of sending workers to work abroad continued to face many difficulties and challenges due to the Covid-19 outbreak, which had a comprehensive and profound impact on all countries and territories, including Taiwan (China). In 2021, the number of Vietnamese workers going to work in this market only reached 19,531 people, including 6,487 women.

In this market, the competent authority of Taiwan market has approved an increase in basic salary for workers according to the roadmap since 1/1/2022.

Specifically, for signed labor contracts in which the basic salary of employees is received monthly, the basic monthly salary is adjusted to increase from NT$24,000/month to NT$25,250/month, with an increase of 5.21% (an increase of NT$1,250/month compared to the current basic salary).

For labor contracts signed in which the basic hourly wage of the employee is paid, the basic hourly wage is adjusted to increase from NT$160/hour to NT$168/hour, with an increase margin of 5.0% (an increase of NT$8/hour compared to the current basic wage).

2022 is also the first year of implementing the Law on Vietnamese Workers Working Abroad under Contract. A series of legal documents to implement the law have been issued, such as: Decree No. 112/2021/ND-CP of the Government detailing a number of articles and measures to implement the Law on Vietnamese Workers Working Abroad under Contract; Decision No. 40/2021/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister on the Overseas Employment Support Fund; Circular No. 20/2021/TT-BLDTBXH dated December 15, 2021 of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs regulating the database system on Vietnamese workers working abroad under contract; Circular No. 21/2021/TT-BLDTBXH dated December 15, 2021 detailing a number of articles of the Law on Vietnamese Workers Working Abroad under Contract.

According to the provisions of Decision No. 40/2021/QD-TTg effective from February 21, 2022, the Overseas Employment Support Fund aims to support the development, stabilization and expansion of markets, prevent, minimize and overcome risks for workers and businesses; protect the legitimate rights and interests of workers.

Enterprises providing services to send Vietnamese workers to work abroad under contracts and workers contribute to the Fund at two different levels.

Enterprises contribute 150,000 VND/employee/contract, and employees working abroad contribute 100,000 VND/person to the Fund for each contract.
